Almost 25 percent of our state is covered in trees, and they provide a wide variety of benefits to Oklahoma's citizens. For us to continue to enjoy those benefits, and take advantage of new opportunities, the State must address the most critical issues that affect them.

The Oklahoma Forest Resource Assessment and Strategy Plan are currently being developed by Oklahoma Forestry Services. This Assessment and Strategy Plan are extremely important because they will help determine the future of Oklahoma's forests.

The Forest Resource Strategy will provide a long term, comprehensive, coordinated strategy for investing state, federal, and other partner resources to address the management and landscape priorities identified in our assessment.
