Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest

Fri, June 15, 2018

The 2-day, Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest is June 15 - 16 at Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, OK. For over 40 years, the festival’s mission has been to stage an annual Festival of the Forest, while promoting the beauty, heritage and culture of Kiamichi Country to the people of Oklahoma and the visitors from around the world.

Get ready for chainsaws, log rolling and more as The All American Lumberjack Show perform live. These professional lumberjacks will show off their skills in several areas including: Cross-cut sawing;  Spring Board Tree-Topping; Stock Saw; Quick Carve and water events including the Boom Run and Log Rolling.

In 1982, the Forest Heritage Center began honoring those who have contributed to the forest industry in this region. Each year, since then a Heritage Forester has been selected, with the presentation made at the annual Forestry Luncheon in June. This event is held during Oklahoma’s Forestry Week and is the official for the  Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival of the Forest.
