Oklahoma Forestry Services monitors Southern Pine Beetle occurrrence in Oklahoma. This monitoring consists of trapping and aerial detection flight to determine Southern Pine Beetle activity. Oklahoma presently has a low occurencee of Southern Pine Beetle.

We also assist USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS)  with trapping for Gypsy Moth. Gypsy Moth is an introduced silk moth that has caused defoliation of oaks across the Eastern United States. Gypsy Moth is not present in Oklahoma.

We monitor forest insect ocurrence in Oklahoma.
