Statewide Discussion:

Fire danger today will generally be confined to areas in southwest Oklahoma. The southern tier of counties west of I-35 will see much less sky cover than the majority of Oklahoma and relative humidity values will fall into the 30-35% range yielding dry fine fuels. Temperatures in this area will be 48°-52° with NNW winds around 10 mph and limited gusts. Moderate rates of fire spread should be expected in this area.

The remainder of the state is expected to experience a fair amount of sky cover and relative humidity values above 40%. Dry fine fuels are in place across much of central Oklahoma; however fuel moisture will be above levels of concern today limiting fire behavior.

Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.

Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
