Statewide Discussion:
Weekend weather will put a damper on fire danger today. Blizzard conditions in the Panhandle to heavy rain in southeast Oklahoma and wetting rains across the remainder of the state (excluding a small pocket in southwest Oklahoma) will boost fuel moistures decreasing the fire danger risk today.

Moderate fire danger may return to a portion of southwest Oklahoma tomorrow afternoon. In areas where only light rainfall was realized over the weekend including Harmon, Jackson, Greer, Kiowa, Tillman and portions of Comanche Counties, enhanced fire weather will result in an increase in fire danger indices Tuesday afternoon. Temperature around 60° and relative humidity values 25-30% will result in rapidly drying fuels. Winds are expected to be 15-20 mph with higher gusts out of the southwest.

Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.

Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
