Statewide Discussion:
Receptive fuels spurred on by continued dry weather in southeast Oklahoma will hold fire danger in the area from Hwy. 69 east to McCurtain County along the Red River, but light winds will keep spread potential in check. Limited sky cover, temperatures 85°-89°, afternoon relative humidity dipping to around 35% and drought influenced fuels are expected to support limited fire growth should ignitions occur.
Elsewhere in Oklahoma, afternoon relative humidity values at or above 40% will limit fuel availability and light winds will keep potential rates of spread in check. Rain showers in the Panhandle and parts of northwest Oklahoma will negate fire danger in that area.
Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.
