Statewide Discussion:
Today… No significant fire control issues are anticipated in Oklahoma today. Elevated relative humidity and increasing sky cover ahead of potential storms across western Oklahoma and the Panhandle will diminish fire danger in this area of the state today. Recent rains and warmer night time temperatures have progressed green-up of herbaceous fuels and prompted movement toward full leaf out in central and eastern Oklahoma encouraging a spring-time lull in fire danger in this section of the state.

Friday-Sunday… Storm chances (some severe potential) moving east across the state over the next two days are expected to keep fire danger in check, and no significant fire control occurrence is expected. The next Oklahoma Wildfire Situation Report will be issued on Monday, April 20. If conditions deviate from the current forecast resulting in a significant change in fire weather, a subsequent report will be issued.

Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.

Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
