Statewide Discussion:

Cold and dry conditions will dominate the weather for most of the week across Oklahoma. At this time there are no significant fire control issues anticipated.

Remnant snow cover and snowmelt will subdue fire danger in the Panhandle and far northwestern Oklahoma. Rainfall late last week that lingered into the weekend has improved fuel moistures throughout the bulk of the state. Persistent morning frosts, colder than normal temperatures and moderated relative humidity values should temper fire danger through the work week.

Windy conditions associated with a front that will push through Oklahoma mid-week may briefly increase fire danger, but again no significant fire control issues are anticipated.

Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.

Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
