Statewide Discussion:
Unusually warm temperatures will prevail across Oklahoma today. Recent rainfall in central, southern and eastern Oklahoma will keep fire danger in check today from the I-35 corridor east; however a significant portion of western Oklahoma will experience warm and dry conditions again.

The highest fire danger will be present west of a line from Alfalfa County in the north to Cotton County in the south. Temperatures from the mid-80°’s to mid-90°’s and relative humidity in the upper teens driven by lower dew point values will push fine fuels into a readily available state this afternoon across all of western Oklahoma including the Panhandle. ESE winds will be relatively light with little gust separation and should moderate rate of spread in most cases should a fire occur.

Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.

Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
