Statewide Discussion: High fire danger is expected throughout the state. The weather conditions will vary slightly across the state, the biggest variation is the expected wind speed. West of I-35 in and near this line, south winds are expected to be sustained at 13 to 18 mph with gust up to 25 mph. Temperatures are expected to range from 85 to 89 degrees. Relative humidity will range from 23 to 27 percent. East of this line, south sustained winds are expected to range from 7 to 15 mph. Temperatures will range from 82 to 88 degrees. Relative Humidity will range 22 to 27 percent. In areas that did not experience rainfall over the weekend, any fire that starts today has the potential to burn very intensely with moderate to rapid rates of spread.
SPECIAL NOTE TO THE PUBLIC: The Governor’s Burn Ban has changed to include only 55 counties in the State of Oklahoma. Tulsa and Delaware Counties have passed a Burn Ban Resolution. For information concerning this ban go to the following link: http://www.forestry.ok.gov/burn-ban-information
