FIRE DEPARTMENT STATISTICS** FROM www.firereporting.ok.gov for Time Period 10/04/12 thru 10/05/12
No wildfires reported yesterday
** - These statistics are from Fire Departments that have reported their information on the Oklahoma Forestry Services web-based Fire Reporting System. Totals do not reflect the total acres burned or total number of fires that have occurred in Oklahoma.
Statewide Discussion: No reports of unusual fire activity or requests for State assistance were received yesterday. Green-up in live herbaceous and grassy fuels plus the emergence of winter annual vegetation will greatly reduce fire danger until cold weather causes warm season grasses to go dormant and hardwood trees to drop their leaves.
As a result of the decrease in fire danger and fire activity, this report will be temporarily suspended after today. This Daily Fire Situation Report will resume when significant fire danger returns and/or significant fire activity occurs.
SPECIAL NOTE TO THE PUBLIC: The Governor’s Burn Ban was lifted yesterday (10/04/12) for all remaining counties. A County Burn Ban for Cimarron County is in effect. For the most current information concerning burn bans click on the following link:
