A cold front has entered Oklahoma and will cross a large portion of Oklahoma today. Winds behind the cold front are northerly from 20-25 mph with gusts above 30 mph. Relative humidity readings are expected remain high enough across the entire state to preclude any fire control issues.

SPECIAL NOTE TO THE PUBLIC: Caution is urged if conducting controlled burns (where permitted) today due to the approaching cold front which will bring strong, gusty and shifting winds.

A Governor’s Burn Ban for numerous counties and a County Burn Ban in Cimarron County is in effect. For information concerning these bans click on the following link:

Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
