Statewide Discussion: No unusual fire activity was reported or requests for State assistance were received from outside of the Protection Area yesterday.
Fire danger will remain high generally west of Interstate 35. South-southeast winds are forecast to be sustained from 10-15 mph with gusts near and above 20 mph. The relative humidity is expected to drop into the low 30% range with temperatures reaching the upper 80 degree range. The fire weather forecast for the next few days includes a decent chance of rainfall over the majority of the state. In advance of the incoming weather system higher relative humidity will moderate fire danger. However, any fire starting today in cured or drought-stressed live fuels has the potential to burn with moderate rates of spread.SPECIAL NOTE TO THE PUBLIC: A Governor’s Burn Ban is in effect for a large part of Oklahoma.
