The highest fire danger today is expected roughly south of Interstate 40. Relative humidity is expected to range from near 15% to 25% with sustained north-northwest winds from 15-20 mph with gust near and above 30 mph. Temperatures are forecast to range from 45-55 degrees. Any fire starting this afternoon in this area in cured, grassy fuels has the potential to burn very intensely with rapid rates of spread.
