Statewide Discussion: No unusual fire activity was reported and no requests for assistance outside of the protection area were received over the weekend.

Fire danger will reintroduce itself this afternoon in the Panhandle and far northwestern Oklahoma. Temperatures in the mid-90°’s to 102° combined with SSW winds around 25 mph gusting to near 40mph and relative humidity values ranging from 10% to 24% will prompt accelerated drying of fuels. Rapid rates of fire spread and suppression difficulty cannot be ruled out for this afternoon in this area.

Central and Eastern Oklahoma be warm and windy today, however higher humidity values and adequate live fuel moisture levels should mitigate overall fire danger.
