Statewide Discussion: No unusual fire activity was reported and no requests for assistance outside of the protection area were received yesterday.
A warming and drying trend appears to be developing that will edge into the Panhandle and western Oklahoma. Larger fuels in this area have shown only slight improvement in moisture due to lingering drought effects. As temperatures rise and the number of days separated from precipitation increases, fire danger will gradually build back into this area.
Fire control problems are not expected anywhere in Oklahoma today.
SPECIAL NOTE TO THE PUBLIC: Recent rainfall has mitigated the immediate wildfire threat, however we encourage you to remain vigilant as a drying trend begins in the Panhandle and western Oklahoma.Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.
Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
