FIRE DEPARTMENT STATISTICS** FROM www.firereporting.ok.gov for Time Period 01/07/14 thru 01/08/14
No fires reported yesterday
** - These statistics are from Fire Departments that have reported their information on the Oklahoma Forestry Services web-based Fire Reporting System. Totals do not reflect the total acres burned or total number of fires that have occurred in Oklahoma.
Statewide Discussion: Yesterday’s fire weather deteriorated below expected conditions. Several wildfires occurred, primarily in central and western Oklahoma, with one unconfirmed loss of a primary residence in Comanche County. Despite the conditions and activity, no requests for State assistance were received.
Fire control problems are not expected anywhere in Oklahoma today. Relative humidity readings are not expected to drop below the mid-50% to mid-60% range today due to moisture ahead of an approaching cold front. Any drizzle, fog, or rainfall received will mitigate local fire danger for the next day or two.
No Burn Bans are currently in effect. For information concerning burn bans click on the following link:
Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
