Statewide Discussion:

No significant fire danger expected today with rain and ice accumulation across a large portion of the state. The Panhandle, northwest and parts of southwest have received minimal amounts of precipitation thus far, but respectable chances develop today excluding the western Panhandle. Of note, a large fire occurred yesterday near Protection, KS just north of Harper County which is a testament to the dryness of the fuels in the region.
