Statewide Discussion:

Light rain will depart eastern Oklahoma this morning, with wetting rains having fell in central, eastern and southeastern Oklahoma. A good portion of the state will see relaxed fire danger as we approach the Christmas holiday, however brief periods of afternoon fire danger will linger in the Panhandle and extreme northwest Oklahoma.

Following a chilly start, the Panhandle and extreme northwest counties will see temperatures warm to 59°-66° along with relative humidity values falling into the 20-30% range. Moderate rates of fire spread are expected with south winds 10-15 mph providing opportunity for successful initial attack.

There are no major concerns with fire danger evident through the remainder of the week and into the Christmas holiday. The Oklahoma Wildfire Situation Report will be updated when fire weather or fire danger merits.
