No fires reported yesterday.

** - These statistics are from Fire Departments that have reported their information on the Oklahoma Forestry Services web-based Fire Reporting System. Totals do not reflect the total acres burned or total number of fires that have occurred in Oklahoma.

Statewide Discussion: No reports of unusual fire activity or requests for State assistance were received during the reporting period.

The highest fire danger today will be in the Oklahoma Panhandle. The sparse winter precipitation in the Panhandle has melted which will allow fine fuels to react to the low relative humidity readings expected today. South-southwest winds are forecast to be sustained at 10-15 mph with gusts above 20 mph. Relative humidity is expected to drop into the low teens in Cimarron County to the upper teens in Beaver County. Temperatures are forecast to range from the upper 40s to low 50s. Any fire that starts this afternoon in continuous fine fuels has the potential to burn intensely with moderate to rapid rates of spread. However, fire control problems are not expected with today’s forecast fire weather conditions.

No Burn Bans are currently in effect. For information concerning burn bans click on the following link:
