Statewide Discussion: Initial attack remained light across Oklahoma. Some rainfall occurred in western Oklahoma yesterday, with the highest amounts in Harmon County. No requests for State assistance were received from outside of the Protection Area yesterday.
Fire danger today will be highest north of a rough line from Kay County to Adair County. Relative humidity is expected to drop into the 15-20% range in this area. Southerly winds are forecast from 10-15 mph gusting up to 25 mph in Kay and Osage County. Temperatures are forecast to be in the low to mid 90 degree range. Much of this area has not received any moisture for a substantial length of time. Any fire that starts today in and near this area has the potential to burn very intensely with moderate to rapid rates of spread.
