Fire danger will be high this afternoon as the dry air in place over the state will allow cured fine fuels to be available to burn by late morning. Northeast to northwest winds are forecast this afternoon to be sustained at 10-15 mph with gusts near 20 mph. Temperatures are forecast to be in the 60 degree with relative humidity readings expected to drop into the low to mid-20% range this afternoon. Expect any fire this afternoon that starts in cured, fine fules to burn very intensely with moderate to rapid rates of spread.Fire danger on Saturday and Sunday is expected to be moderated by higher relative humidities, especially on Sunday. Fire control problems are not expected anywhere in Oklahoma over the weekend. Should conditions change from today’s forecast, an updated Fire Situation Report will be distributed.
