Statewide Discussion:

Fire Assistance outside of the Protection Area: No Activity

Large Fire Activity within the Protection Area included the following fires: No Activity

Rain is forecast for much of the state today especially where it is needed most, however forecasts amounts will vary from only a trace up to 0.5 inches. Overall respite from fire danger in the Panhandle and western Oklahoma will be negligible as drying conditions will prevail on Friday. Eastern Oklahoma is progressing into green-up which was briefly retarded by cooler temperatures. Tall grass and leaf litter will continue to support fire spread until leaf-out and advanced green-up occurs.

Special Note to Firefighters: Review your procedures for handling an incident within an incident such as a medical emergency or vehicular accident while engaged in fire suppression operations.

Special Note to the Public: Remember only YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly…
