Free Trees for Schools Program
OFS in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and Oklahoma Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D), distributes hundreds of trees to schools and other community groups each spring. These native or "Oklahoma Proven" trees are 4-6 feet tall and grown in 3 gallon pots. Applicants must agree to the following:
-
Trees cannot be planted on personal or private property. City parks, city hall, tribal headquarters, schools, etc... are just some ideas of great PUBLIC places to plant.
-
Trees must be planted in a bed or surronded by fencing and / or large area of mulch to prevent mower damage
-
Regular watering program, including summer breaks, must be in place
-
Hold an Arbor Week, Earth Day, or other spring celebration and tree planting
-
Submit a progress report the following fall
Applications are no longer being accepted for spring 2008 planting season.
GreenWorks! Grants

Other Grants
The OK Association for Environmental Education maintains a grant section on their website. This is an excellent clearinghouse for educational grants including those which Oklahoma Forestry Services does not administer or is not directly involved in.
