Pest Alert!

Emerald Ash Borer is an exotic beetle which has been established in the United States from its native Asia.  The insect's larvae feed on the inner bark of ash trees disrupting its ability to transport water and nutrients.  The pest has has been found as close as Missouri. 

Spread of the pest has been traced to the movement of firewood and other ash material from areas infected with the borer.
