Beginning Woodturning Classes

Mon, January 28, 2013

It’s that time again; to discover the excitement and art of woodturning! Many young minds will soon be focused on spinning wood at two rural high schools of southeast Oklahoma as Oklahoma Forestry Services’ museum, the Forest Heritage Center partners with the Southeast Oklahoma Woodturners.

Beginning Woodturning: A Foundation Course is designed to provide a hands-on art experience and a forum to promote the art and craft of woodturning through education and information to Broken Bow and Idabel High School students. This very unique program introduces local high school students to woodturning and gives them the opportunity to work with some of the areas most talented artists while molding the student's individual artistic turning style.

In addition to the high school student's classes, we will offer evening classes to the public FREE of charge. Whether you have woodturning experience or have never turned before, the classes offer something for everyone.
