Statewide Discussion:

Boiling Springs (Woodward County): This large wildfire started on 03/16/15 approximately two miles north and five miles east of Woodward. Yesterday’s suppression forces consisted of three Oklahoma Forestry Services Task Forces, jurisdictional engines from Woodward Fire Department and Mooreland Fire Department, and miscellaneous single resources. Damage assessment by local and state resources is ongoing. The fire has burned approximately 23,500 acres and as of yesterday evening is 100% contained. Light precipitation fell over the fire area overnight with good chances of a wetting rain through the day today. Last report on Boiling Springs Fire.

No significant fire control issues are anticipated today. Elevated relative humidity and increasing rain chances thorough the day today will result in low fire danger.

Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.

Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
