No Wildfire Activity Reported
** - These statistics are from Fire Departments that have recorded their information on the Oklahoma, Forestry Services web-based Fire Reporting System. Totals do not reflect the total acres burned or total number of fires that have occurred in Oklahoma.
There are no significant fire control problems anticipated today. Hot and mainly dry conditions over the weekend did result in some fire activity, however no major suppression difficulties were reported.
A slow moving cold front is setting up to effect weather statewide this week ushering in much cooler than normal temperatures and the potential for some significant precipitation through Thursday afternoon. Today, temperatures in the mid-90’s and residual effects of a short-term drying trend will keep some fire potential in place across parts of southern and east-central Oklahoma; however light winds and relative humidity values in the mid-30% will mitigate control issues in large part.
Remember… ONLY YOU can prevent wildfires! Enjoy Oklahoma’s wildlands responsibly.
Report any suspicious wildland fire activity on the Arson Tip Line: 1-866-662-7766 (1-866-NO ARSON).
