While Oklahoma may be stereotyped as the land of endless prairies, our state is actually home to more than 12 million acres of forests, covering over a quarter of our state. From ponderosa pines to oaks, hickories, and cypress, our ecosystem is incredibly diverse and full of opportunities for recreation, ecology and economic development.

The mission of the Oklahoma Forestry Services is to work to conserve our state’s forests and natural resources, maintaining and preserving them for current and future generations. We work with landowners on forest management, reforestation, growth and protection from threats, such as fires, disease and pests.
